About Huangshan

Huangshan isn't China's most famous mountain for nothing. The granite peaks punching through the cloud sea, the twisted pine trees clinging to cliffs, the hot springs — painters and poets have been losing their minds here for a thousand years. Most visitors rush up and down in a day; sleeping on top for sunrise is the move, even if the dorm beds are overpriced and the noodles are terrible. The Huizhou villages at the base (Hongcun, Xidi) are UNESCO-listed and still lived in.
